Dartmoor Jailbreak Challenge 2012
Back in the 70's/80's, Plymouth had a rock club that long since closed its doors to be demolished and built upon - that club was called Woods. Its stage was the stomping ground for many now established and renowned rock bands including Motorhead , The Police and The Sex Pistols to name a few - wonder how many remember that most wonderful friendly and memorably club! It may not be there anymore but thanks to online social networking the once teenage Woods devotees have recently rerouped (Plymouth Woods on facebook if you want to join us) and in 2012 we will be putting forward a team into the notorious Dartmoor Jailbreak Challenge!
In keeping with the rock theme our team will be dressed as rock icons - or as near as we can get - whilst resembling escapee prisoners at the same time: think Lemmy and Jon Bon Jovi 'on a bad hair day' and that'll be us!
Oue pledge is to beat the current record of MOST PUBLICITY GAINED and to set the record for MOST FAMOUS ROCK MUSICIAN SUPPORT! No mean feat but we intend to give it our best shot......culmnating in a Jailhouse Rock Music Bash to be held at the Plume and Feathers at Princetown late afternoon onwards until we drop - or get arrested, whichever comes first!
Oh, and whilst we are at it we need to raise funds - Vranch House (disabled children) in Exeter who organise the Jailbreak receive 50% and the remaining 50% we will donate to the Nordoff Robins Music Therapy Charity.
